Citizen Scientist: Watch your Watershed – Summer 2014
At the Andrews Institute Summer Camp, it was all about having some fun while learning about science through hands-on activities. During the week long camp, campers learned about the importance of water quality and conservation by examining a local creek. They collected and tested water samples for quality and observed plant and animal life.
Teacher Quality Grant Workshop – Summer 2014
Local biology teachers headed back to school this summer during a workshop hosted by the TCU Andrews Institute for Mathematics and Science Education. In addition to the 15-day summer workshop, the teachers will be participating in a yearlong professional development program that will help them develop new strategies for teaching biology and improving the classroom experience for English language learners.
Doctoral Student Outreach in Haiti – Summer 2014
Morgan Stewart, doctoral student in Science Education, spent one week working with elementary science teachers in a remote village in Haiti.
